The Foreign and Emerging Animal Diseases self directed online course is a train the trainer course for local educators such as Extension livestock and poultry specialists, County Extension Agents, and veterinarians.  The course focuses on emergency preparedness and response to exotic and engineered animal diseases that threaten public health and economic stability.

Learners completing the course can develop opportunities to train others who can continue this educational process in their communities.  Through this network, our ability to detect and report animal diseases quickly will be enhanced.

This course is broken into chapters that help educators develop a more complete understanding of foreign and emerging animal diseases.  Topics include potential occurrences, epidemiology, various diseases as well as best management practices and response plans.  The course also provides insight on media communications and teaching effectiveness.

CEUs are available upon completion of this course. Details on how to obtain CEU credit are provided within the course.

If you have any questions on this course, please contact Sarah White by email BEFORE you register.
